Description: Plastic debris, including small microplastic particles often barely visible to the naked eye, are polluting our lakes, rivers, and oceans.
Join us as Dr. Chelsea Rochman, Professor of Ecology at University of Toronto and Co-founder and Director of the U of T Trash Team, discusses recent insights into where the plastic in our water is coming from, how it’s breaking down, what this could mean for the ecosystem, and most importantly, she will touch on solutions. In addition, Jennifer Leno, Environmental Technician for the Town of Cobourg, will also speak directly to Cobourg’s response to this problem.
