Les Amis Concerts & Ken Prue present Brownman's Halloween Thriller Great Hall - Cobourg Collegiate Institute Friday, October 26 at 7:00 PM. $20 + sc

Brownman's Halloween Thriller at CCI's Great Hall Multiple National Jazz Award-winning trumpet improviser, Brownman Ali, leads an all-star quartet in his popular annual Halloween Thriller concert. The Cobourg concert is the first in a 6-city tour that includes Markham, Toronto, Hamilton, St. Catherines and Kitchener. The BROWNMAN ELECTRYC TRIO + 1 will perform the entire Michael Jackson "Thriller" recording, interpreted and re-worked in Miles Davis' electric-jazz fashion. Michael Jackson's Thriller is the best selling record album of all time with 66 million sold and 8 Grammy Awards in 1984. In addition performing Thriller top to bottom, other Michael Jackson classics will be featured through the night for this unique Halloween jazz party concert. Costumes and Thriller video dance moves are encouraged. (Note: Eagles Greatest Hits rivals Thriller for top seller of all time).

"Delving so deeply into that record always leaves us speechless", states Ali. "Michael Jackson birthed so many incredible tunes over the years, but his collaborations with Quincy Jones on Thriller has to be one of the most towering musical achievements in pop music ever. Using that brilliant material every year on Halloween, as jump-offs for what we do makes for a party that's danceable, but still rooted in exploratory improvising and deep-reaching solos. We approach it the way Miles Davis might have." The BROWNMAN ELECTRYC TRIO has won 2 National Jazz Awards, 3 Toronto Independent Music Awards for "Jazz Group of the Year", a SOCAN music award, a CBC Galaxie Rising Star Award, and an International Independent Music Award for "2015 Jazz-Funk album of the year" for their latest release "Gravitation", which hit number 4 on the iTunes USA jazz charts upon it's release. Brownman's ensembles have already played 9 concerts in Cobourg so far this year, all at The Loft up until now. Brownman loves Cobourg. This "Thriller" concert is at Cobourg Collegiate Institute's sensational GREAT HALL.
