If Life Were a Mirror- Lynn Kuo & Kevin Lau

Les AMIS presents "If Life Were A Mirror" Sunday, March 29, 2020 at 3 pm The LOFT

A world premiere! Violinist Lynn Kuo and composer/pianist Kevin Lau are working and practicing for their World Premiere Tour of "If life were a mirror, " Kevin's new commission for violin and piano. The first stop on the tour is Mar 22 at St. John's Nfld where Lynn is Visiting Assistant Professor of Violin at Memorial University of Newfoundland; next is Mar 28 in Toronto where she performs as Assistant Concertmaster of the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra; finally Mar 29 it's Cobourg where Lynn and Kevin will perform at The LOFT.

Kevin Lau is an accomplished composer whose music has been performed across North America by ensembles such as the Toronto Symphony and the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Vancouver Symphony, the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra and the Niagara Symphony Orchestra where he was Composer in Residence from 2018-2019. Kevin composed orchestral scores to two original ballets, Le Petit Prince (National Ballet of Canada) and Dark Angels (National Arts Centre). He recently composed the score to Charles Officers's award-winning documentary film Invisible Essence: The Little Prince Between 2012-2015, Kevin was Affiliate Composer for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra Shortly beforehand, he completed his doctorate in music composition at University of Toronto. Lynn Kuo's Doctorate of Musical Arts is also from University of Toronto.

Lynn has performed several times at The LOFT in Cobourg with Les AMIS Concerts and has toured extensively throughout North America, the UK and Asia as a soloist and recitalist and with Les AMIS Concerts in Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Romania, Hungary, Germany and Austria.

The program for "If Life Were A Mirror" also features works by Beethoven, Aaron Jay Kernis, Michael Pepa and Arvo Pärt. Tickets $30. + sc
