ABEE Live Music presents: Local Legends Vol. #2: Steafan & Saskia w/ Special Guest Marsala Lukianchuk

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a little early on Thursday, March 14 with Steáfán & Saskia. Two of Northumberland’s world class musicians, performing an intimate concert in Cobourg’s Victoria Hall citizens forum room. They will be joined by the incredibly talented singer Marsala Lukianchuk, who resides in Peterborough.

Steáfán Hannigan

Is a musician, author, composer, audio engineer, musicologist, and instrument maker. He has worked with the likes of Bjork, Depeche Mode, AfroCelts, Loreena McKennit, and many more. He has produced or played on over 200 albums. Steafan is a multi-instrumentalist who plays Guitar, Uilleann Pipes, Bodhràn, Flute, Bouzouki, and several others. His extensive background in music and theatre is something to behold.

Saskia Tomkins

is a musician, educator, and composer. She has worked with many artists including: The Chieftains, Sultans of String, Jabbour, Uriah Heep, Ken Whiteley, Jimmy Bowskill, Ron Korb, David Newland, and numerous other musicians, actors and dancers. She is an All Britain Champion Irish Fiddler. Saskia was recently inducted into the Music Hall of Fame by Comhaltas for her services to the preservation of Irish Traditional Music in Canada.

Saskia’s instruments include Violin, Viola, Cello, and Nyckelharpa. She frequently performs and tours with the JUNO-award-winning band Sultans of String. Again, another extraordinary and extensive bio that should be looked at in more detail;
