IMAGINATE is a gathering of storytellers, an opportunity to learn new perspectives and push boundaries. It’s a stage filled with some of the most innovative and heart-full creatives of our time. This year’s event will be hosted by CHRISTIAN HARVEY of One City Peterborough and the presenters include: JESSE THISTLE is Métis-Cree, from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and an assistant professor in Humanities at York University in Toronto. His best-selling memoir, ‘FROM THE ASHES’, has won numerous awards, fans and was a finalist for CBC Canada Reads. In March 2024 the publisher, Simon & Schuster, listed it as one of 100 most notable books they’ve published in their 100 years. Also on that list were authors like F. Scott Fitzgerald, Hilary Clinton and Ernest Hemingway. Jesse will read from his new book of poetry, ‘SCARS & STARS’, followed by an onstage conversation with KERRI KIGHTLEY. THE GERTRUDES are a unique and experimental music collective from Kingston’s Skeleton Park neighbourhood. THE GERTRUDES have produced five full length albums, participate in numerous Canadian festivals and share the stage with artists such Sarah Harmer, Calexico, and Ricky Skaggs. The lineup for IMAGINATE will include, Mariah (Mo) Horner, Greg Tilson, Annie Clifford, Teilhard Frost, Jason Mercer and Josh Lyon. ‘NICOLE’, by filmmaker/photographer, JOHAN HALLBERG-CAMPBELL, will see its premier screening. This beautiful film follows a Community Outreach Worker as she confronts her past on some of the toughest streets in Canada, unpacking the story of her healing journey from homelessness and addiction to becoming a highly respected community leader. JOHAN’s film ‘HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO’ was a highlight of last year’s IMAGINATE. IMAGINATE 2024 is sponsored by Don Emond of ASSANTE WEALTH MANAGEMENT and is a presentation in support of GREEN WOOD COALITION (
