Mark Schatzker is a Toronto writer whose work has appeared in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. He is writer in residence at the Modern Diet and Physiology Research Centre at McGill University. He has travelled the world on a quest to uncover the lost art of eating and living well. His three books have led him to the realization that decades of advancements in food technology have turned the brain’s drive to eat against the body, placing us in an unrelenting state of craving. His research is presented in an accessible and engaging way. Schatzker is the author of The Dorito Effect: The Surprising New Truth About Food and Flavor and Steak: One Man’s Search for the World’s Tastiest Piece of Beef. His latest book The End of Craving combines cutting-edge science and ancient wisdom. It is an urgent and radical investigation that will fundamental change how we understand both food and ourselves.
