Hillsburn is an indie band from Halifax that has sold out The Loft on two previous visits. Their music is a mix of rock, folk and Americana and they bleed every last drop of themselves into each of their original songs. Their first album, In the Battle Years, was awarded the 2016 Canadian Folk Music Award for New/Emerging Artist of the Year and they were nominated in a slew of categories at the 2017 East Coast Music Awards, including Rising Star Recording of the Year, Group Recording of the Year, and Fans' Choice Video of the Year (which they won!). Hillsburn released its second album, The Wilder Beyond, in February recently and are touring widely to promote the new songs. Their tour will swing them through Cobourg in early May just before heading off to the UK for the first time. Come out and to The Loft and give them a rousing send-off. We have two shows to accomodate their large and growing local following.
